Dr Ali Tardu at Optimed…

I had a gastric sleeve at Optimed hospital performed by Dr Ali Tardu. EVERYTHING from the airport pick up to the surgery itself and the amazing aftercare are faultless. The hospital is SPOTLESS, my room was cleaned twice a day, nurses were so smiley and professional, I literally wanted for nothing. I’m now 11days post op and have had 0 complications or regrets.

Dr Ali Tardu at Optimed…

I had a gastric sleeve at Optimed hospital performed by Dr Ali Tardu. EVERYTHING from the airport pick up to the surgery itself and the amazing aftercare are faultless. The hospital is SPOTLESS, my room was cleaned twice a day, nurses were so smiley and professional, I literally wanted for nothing. I’m now 11days post op and have had 0 complications or regrets.

Had a great experience with Booking Surgery.

I had lipo360 done by Dr.Fatih, he’s work is impecable and I’m really happy with my results

Great communication with my coordinators Basak and Rossie, from start and up untill today you’ve been very lovely and professional.

A massive thank you to the Nurses at Yasam Hospital that took care of me, I was by myself, your care and patience were highly appreciated. To the housekeeping team that kept my room always clean and smelling delicious, thank you for your hard work.

To Oscar, keep being gentle and sweet, you doing a great job and you give the best hugs.

Nadia, loved your energy and if I go back I hope you’ve learned portuguese by then.

Also thank you to the other coordinators, I forgot your names sorry, but thank you for helping me with my requests. To the driver that took my to the airport, your amazing.

The only thing that needs a lot of improvement at Yasam Hospital is THE FOOD.

As a pescatarian I was left with poor options and had to have food delivered.

Other then that I’m very happy with my stay and I highly recommend Booking Surgery

I’m Amy and I travelled to Turkey with bookingsurgery on 25th March 24. I arrived pretty late but that didn’t mean anything I was met by the nurses and translator and all my test begun. I felt safe and happy l everything was explained to me from what the tests where to what medication they were giving me. early the next morning. I went for the last of my tests. then it was back to my lovely room to wait for Dr fatih . The room was brilliant. clean tidy and had everything you’d need. hairdry robes shampoo conditioner and body wash and slippers 🙂

then it was time to go throu in depth with dr fatih about my surgeries. I had a 360 fdl mons lift ab repair breast uplift and implants. and a buttock flap.

I spend a good 45 -50 mins with Dr fatih discussing what he thought was best. he made me feel so comfortable and at ease. he explained every line he drew on me so I need what it ment. he was kind and caring he could see I was nervous but by the time we were done i felt completely at ease.

then off I went to surgery 🙂

my after care was AMAZING from the brilliant nurses at yassam David tucker my co ordinator and nadia the loveliest translator. I never once felt like I was alone. Dr fatih came in once I was settled back in my room. and again checked over how I was doing he did this multiple times over the next few days. I am honestly over the moon with the work I’ve had done and I’d go back in a heart beat if I wanted anymore. The whole team from co ordinator to nurses and even the cleaners who honestly work their socks off to keep your rooms spotless everyone was great. I’d highly recommend Dr fatih for any plastics his work is brilliant. bookingsurgery made the whole process feel easy and stress free. I can’t thank them enough.

I have had my teeth done at booking surgery.com Istanbul turkey omg I love my new teeth I had venners done they are just perfect I picked a nice shade of white natural shape my dentist who prepped and fitted what a super star she is very talented at her job all the dental nurses who helped her amazing and the lady who brought me water and my partner coffee every time we visited she was very nice and not to forget my Nora amazing caring funny kind women organised everything made me feel comfortable helped with any issues she is a top quality lady very good at her job amazing would highly recommend for people to go there

I toyed with the stars for this but decided on 4 and not 3…..

Good points:

*The booking process is very easy to start with and you are designated a co-ordinator. This I presume is random.

*The hospital was fantastic (Yasam in *Tekirdağ) ☆☆☆☆☆

*Post-surgery tests – all done efficiently and quickly.

*Medical Staff at the hospital were fabulous. They looked after me very well and we had a good laugh on some occasions (worth the tummy hurting a bit)

*Care was better than I had imagined ☆☆☆☆☆

*My husband was also looked after very well whilst looking after me. He had 3 meals a day and he ate the food, he enjoyed it! He felt rude not to.

*Friendly translators who worked their socks off! (a special shout out to Oscar and I’m sorry I forget her name – young girl with nose ring and Italian boyfriend) ♡♡♡♡♡

*The information received post surgery – a file with all test results and in depth details to show to whoever it may concern on the return home (i.e doctors). The transport back to the airport home with the help from the driver to get special assistance was fabulous.

Bad points:

*My co-ordinator – Deniz wasn’t up to par.

Reasons: Not enough support. No message in the coming week before my operation to reassure all was set, well or to wish me luck. This was a basic

lack of communication. I asked for dietary support and was given a link which was not a problem, but during this message I was told my hospital had been changed to another, A worry for an already apprehensive situation!

*Other co-ordinators had helped create an April group chat to which I wasn’t involved as I hadnt been told about it. So on arrival at the airport there was a bond with the other patients wating. I messaged Deniz and asked why I wasn’t aware of the chat. They apologised and said they ”just didn’t think”.

I was given the wrong meeting information and hadn’t been included in the up-to-date new instructions (THE GATE HAS CHANGED FROM 14 TO 8) I am disabled and had to walk 6 gates outside to find the correct place after I called Ercan. This was again down to my co-ordinator.

*The transport from the airport. It took a ridiculous amount of time! Something went wrong. Not the drivers faults somewhere higher up. 2 hours (some had been there for 3 hours) waiting outside on a bench as 2 patients had not arrived. We were then taken to two minibuses. Some of us going to Yasam Hospital and some to Optimed. For some reason we were mixed up and instead of going to my destination (along with 4 others) we took a detour to the one hospital then ours. No need, as the other bus had enough room for all the Optimed patients. The journey took ages! The whole process from airport to hospital was over 4hours. This was a worrying start.

*The baggage in the van. This is an accident waiting to happen. ALL suitcases are placed against the sliding doors inside. There is no boot. If we needed to get out in an emergency, we couldn’t.

*My room. Initially I was put into a tiny room. A sofa had been placed against the wall (for my husband to sleep on) and the bathroom door didn’t open enough to get into the toilet and shower. I banged my stomach on the door handle each time and banged my husbands ”bed”. I asked to move that evening but at 11pm there wasn’t another room available. I waited and waited the next day……. I was panicking more and more thinking how I was going to be able to get in and out of the toilet after my sleeve surgery (being swollen) with a drip! Late afternoon, after being placed in my gown and stockings ready for surgery I did complain. I refused to stay in there and one of the co-ordinators took a bit of stick from me and passed it on to Nadia who is the head co-ordinator. She sorted it straight away and we were moved and put into a much, much more suitable room. One small thing, the bathroom has a small lip to get the drip over. It needed lifting to get over it. Not ideal, it would be better if the wheels would roll rather than lifting a metal drip stand and drips.

All in all my experience was a good one. Just a few details needed to be ironed out to have made me feel at ease. With the initial mistakes, I absolutely thought about not going ahead with the surgery but I’m glad I did.

Dr Katar, my surgeon, you will forever be in my thoughts. You have literally saved my life and paying what I paid was worth every penny. I truthfully don’t think the NHS would have done any better and I’m talking from experience.
