Maltepe Dental Clinic -arvostelu

I’ve suffered with my teeth terribly as a teenager and had 11 root canals with many teeth being covered in very large fillings for over 20 years. I knew it was time to crown them but I thought I would need implants too. I would never be able to afford treatment of so many teeth in the UK. I was recommended Maltepe Dental Clinic by a friend. I researched the clinic and after a couple of months decided to contact them via WhatsApp and started talking to Eyup. I was quite keen to see their dentist in London first. Eyup arranged an appointment. I saw Dr Yusuf who was very pleasant and explained the best option for me would be to do 14 zirconia crowns. He said my root canals looked healthy and he wouldn’t recommend to just change them to implants for no apparent reason. Eyup sent me all the information with the price and how many days it would take.

I was grateful for Dr Yusuf’s advice and after a few weeks I decided to go for it and booked my treatment in Turkey.

Eyup was extremely helpful with the appointments, booking the hotel and the airport transfer. I felt really looked after. Upon arrival, I was taken to the hotel and I was also picked up to go to my first appointment which really helped. I then quickly figured out my way round and enjoyed walking to the clinic on my own.

In the clinic I was introduced to Kristina who explained every step of the treatment to me and was always there to answer any question. My doctor was Dr Volkan, who was very patient and kind. After the X-rays, he proceeded with the treatment as originally discussed. I have now got 14 new crowns. Still getting used to a couple set on my live teeth, which should settle down soon. I’m very happy with how everything went.

I took a friend on my trip for moral support and we had a great time exploring Istanbul, trying the amazing Turkish food and visiting markets. I hope my experience helps someone in deciding whether to go to Maltepe clinic.

I took my sister here after a year of research and it just goes to show that you don’t know what you are dealing with until you actually go there in person.

I am putting together a YouTube video so that people will understand what they did but for now I would like to caution other people getting their teeth done here that they are very friendly and wonderful as long as things are going well but when you question: why does my sister have an implant screw hole coming out of the front side of her teeth? and why have the teeth broken within 2 hours of having them put in? Why have the fillings meant to cover the screw holes completely disintegrate after one day?! and we were not the only ones having these issues. I know this because we spent 2 weeks sitting in the lobby waiting for her appointments. It was not unusual to see people sleeping on the couch because they don’t respect your time either, they make you come in in the morning and leave you waiting for 4, 5, or 6 hours at a time! They would offer discounts to people to leave reviews saying how great they are but there were other unhappy people having our same experience of broken teeth and frustration at unmet promises and expectations. The worst part is that the dentist sabotaged my sisters teeth right before we got on the plane home and they didn’t even bother to try to deny it, they just said that they would pay for her to have it fixed in the US! I have the WhatsApp conversations to prove all of this. We left Turkey in tears and feel that we were very badly taken advantage of and now we have to have her teeth redone because they look weird and we don’t know how long they will last because a piece already broke off within 2 hours, so it was just a huge expensive mistake.

I did see some people that were happy with what they had done there too but I think they are trying to punch above their weight. Just because you have an onsite lab doesn’t mean that you put out a good product, a lab is only as good as the people doing the work and We found this out the hard way.

Please make sure that you get an itemized quote before they even touch you! We learned this the hard way too because we trusted them. I have months of whatapp conversations asking over and over and over for an itemized bill. I did finally get something but it seemed to me that they did some creative accounting after the fact. I can’t prove that part and that is on us but protect yourself so you don’t end up feeling taken for a ride like we did.

In July 2023, I arrived in Istanbul for the first time, eager to take the necessary steps to correct my teeth. From the initial back-and-forth communication via WhatsApp to the accommodations they arranged for me, the service was nothing short of exceptional.

What truly stood out during my first visit was Dr. Orhan Ofluoglu’s honest and professional advice. He explained, ”Eric, due to your condition, we cannot place crowns or implants until we first make your mouth healthy.” I had suffered significant bone loss, which needed to be addressed before any further dental work. Initially, I felt disappointed, but after reflecting on their commitment to prioritizing my health over rushing into treatment, my respect for their practice grew immensely. They performed two sinus lifts and two bone grafts, and the surgery was a success. Beyond the procedure, I also had the opportunity to explore the beautiful city of Istanbul.

My second trip was in April 2024, when the clinic was finally able to place my crowns and implants, giving me a full-mouth restoration. Dr. Volkan Seymen, a brilliant young doctor with an excellent bedside manner, carried out the procedure with great care and expertise. It took me a couple of months to fully adjust to my new smile. At times, I would instinctively cover my mouth when smiling, forgetting that I no longer needed to hide it. This transformation has not only improved my quality of life but has also significantly boosted my confidence.

If you’re on the fence about getting dental work done in Turkey—don’t be. These doctors are the real deal. They will turn down money if it means protecting your health, and that level of integrity is rare. I highly recommend them!

I had dental treatment of bridges and crowns. Dr Volkan really cares about his patients which made me feel at ease, his work is excellent. All the staff are really nice at MDC. Kristina was absolutely amazing, she was able to answer anything I wasn’t sure about. Eyub my programme coordinator was marvellous, keeping me updated from the beginning here in London and in Istanbul. All staff are professional, experienced and with a wealth of knowledge.

MDC is modern, clean and with an inhouse lab. I’m really happy with the treatment I had done and the caring

All options were presented to me, talked through and no pressure was applied, Dr. Volkan YIğit Seyman was absolutely amazing, and along with the whole team at MDC has changed my life immensely.

I had 22 zirconium crowns and a root canal treatment, even with being scared due to previous experiences and suffering from bad sensitivity, Dr.Volkan was patient, caring and genuinely interested in helping me.

My patient coordinator along with my Dr were amazing with every detail during my treatment, and I cannot speak highly enough of MDC or the staff.

Even after treatment, MDC will help at any opportunity, just contact them, either Istanbul or London if need be, one of my fears was I would have treatment and be left on my own, but this is not the case as MDC genuinely care.
